Le Dimore Ischia- where time slows down at sunset
Turning right and slowly climbing up via Baiola, in the direction of Fango, after about 500meters you’ll reach the “younger sister ” of Villa Olivia, a small cluster of three apartments , L’Ulivo, Il Rosmarino, and La Strelizia,, we join under the name of “Le Dimore”.
each one has it’s own personality- but what unites them is the sense of tranquillity, the scents of Mediterranean vegetation and the beauty of the open horizon, streching out before your eyes like a private-stage view.
What surprises every guest is the speed at which the sun sinks into the sea, as if a hurry to go and light up the other side of the world, leaving behind a palette of colours that changes every evening, painting the sky and the island of Ventotene in the distance.
Those lucky enough to stay more than three nights return in time to enyoy the sunset from their own terrace, with a drink in the hand and their gaze gently adrift.
And when the evening gently settles, the solar lights styled like a bistrot begin to glow, while the air still carries the scent of lavander, citronella and rosemary.
The further you move from the busling town center, the clearer and quiter the air becomes- until it’s perfumed with the essence of Mediterranean woodland:chestnut, olive trees, oaks and myrtle.
Thefrenzy of traffic, the restless voices from the beaches….all left behind.
Step onto the terrace, close the door behind you, and the only horizon left is the sea, blending seamlessly with the sky.
L’Ulivo, Il Rosmarino and La Strelizia share all of this.
Each hour of the day offers its own forest lullaby: the blackbirds and sparrows early in the morning and in the late afternoon, the cicadas echoing in the golden heat of July and August.
