Ischia in November: Autumn Light and Winter Sea

A quiet season begins, and we embace it with gratitude – here, where sunsets deepen and olive trees stand tall.

There’s a moment, between the end of October and the first days of November, when the island truly slows down.

Bars, restaurants and seasonal shops close, and even the wind seems to carry the scent of damp earth and fallen leaves, whispering that change has arrived.

Autumn is here — inviting us to let go of what we no longer need, to make room for lightness, space and breath.

At Villa Olivia and Le Dimore, it’s time to close the gates with gratitude, to let the garden breathe and the rooms return to silence.

The last guests have left, the pools have been emptied and cleaned, the sunbeds covered and stored away. Tables and chairs return indoors, pergolas are uncovered.

These gestures repeat themselves every year, yet they always move me — they mark the end of a season and the beginning of a slower, more peaceful time.

The windows close for a few weeks, and from mid-December, Villa Olivia will reopen for those who seek a different kind of Christmas — one made of a winter sea, deep sunsets, meaningful silences and tiny lights shining among the olive trees.

With gratitude,

Villa Olivia & Le Dimore – a story of heartfelt hospitality since 1975
